Our
history

We are probably the company with the longest history dedicated exclusively to designing, manufacturing, installing, and servicing products for Mega Yachts.

We have been doing so for exactly 50 years. We started our work in 1973, concurrently with the first large yacht.

OUR HISTORY

The Beginnings

We began by embracing the traditional craftsmanship of shipbuilding from a corner of Liguria, then developing it to apply it to the larger yachts of that time. We combined this with meticulous attention to detail and finishes of nautical articles. This gave birth to our company, inspired by the idea of the three founding partners: Vittorio Foppiano, Francesco Chiarelli, and Ante Vuksa, who were passionate about the nautical world, the sea, and the most beautiful boats they admired and studied in detail in the ports of Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure, and the bay of Portofino.

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

Progress and Growth

The continuous increase in size of the first large yachts, along with the emergence of the mega yacht sector, allowed our company, Motomar, to continue satisfying the most prestigious shipyards with increasingly refined and high-performance nautical accessories. These were the years in which we accumulated expertise and achievements, always recognized by the most prestigious shipyards and the most demanding end clients.

The relocation of Motomar to its new headquarters in Rapallo at the beginning of the 2000s stimulated us and allowed us to improve our service to clients and make the production processes of our nautical equipment for megayachts more efficient. We intervened in the production department with new machine tools and redefined operational procedures through the development of the Technical Office, thanks to the introduction of 3D design and Finite Element Analysis (F.E.M.) calculations.
